To provide the community a hub where everyone is welcome and encouraged to interact with our physiotherapists and one another to learn about their body, and how they can strengthen and maintain it so they can live a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Nick Lo MPT, BSc. (Biology), CAFCI, CSCS, MCPA

Nick is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where he completed his Master of Physiotherapy in 2006 and Bachelor of Science in 2004.

He is a member of the Sport and Orthopaedic Divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. He has completed numerous post-graduate courses and is currently working towards his certificate in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy.

He is a certified K-Taping Therapist, a certified Functional Movement Screen Examiner, and has a Level 1 certification from BikeFit Systems to perform expert bike fitting. He is also certified to perform medical acupuncture.

Nick has extensive experience working in a number of clinics throughout Greater Vancouver, helping clients in a variety of orthopaedic and sports-related conditions. He has a special interest working with athletes of all ages, developing sport-specific exercises to prevent re-injury and to facilitate elite performance.

Nick is currently a coach and trainer for the Vancouver Eagles Youth Basketball Club, a Steve Nash Youth Basketball League and a member of Basketball BC. When not in the clinic, he enjoys staying active by weight training in the gym, snowboarding, and playing basketball.

Nick is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Cantonese.


Bryan Cervantes MPT, BSc. (Kin), COMT, CGIMS, CAFCI

Bryan graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006.

Since graduation, he has undergone extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy that includes a Certificate of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy offered on the campus of Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia. In addition, Bryan has obtained certification to perform medical acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. He also completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology that led him to work in field and office ergonomics.

Bryan has worked in a variety of orthopaedic and sports injury clinics and occupational rehabilitation programs where he has helped clients of all ages with varying orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions.

Bryan’s interests include traveling which has led him to work as a physiotherapist in Kuwait and Australia.

Besides being bitten by the traveler’s bug, Bryan loves scuba diving, is a fan of sports and enjoys an active lifestyle.


Jessie Wong MPT, BHK

Jessie completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia. She has been involved in health and fitness industry for 6 years as a personal trainer, swim instructor, and coach for basketball, volleyball and soccer at various levels and ages. She has volunteered for various sporting events such as the Western Canada Crossfit Games and the West Coast Basketball Tournament. Jessie has her level 1 Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, and is working towards obtaining her medical acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.

Jessie has experience in the hospital and community setting while working with patients of all ages with neurological and orthopedic conditions. She enjoys working with all types of clients and believes treatment should be patient centered, individualized and include a combination of manual therapy, exercise therapy, and most importantly, patient education.

When Jessie isn't in the clinic, she is a committed Crossfitter whose choice of equipment is an Olympic bar, a giant tire, and a skipping rope. She also enjoys riding her bike, rock climbing and volleyball.

Jessie is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of Cantonese.


Deanna Bicego MPT, BSC, CAFCI, CERT MANIP PT, MCPA

Deanna is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2006 and Bachelor of Science in 2003.

She is a member of the Sport and Orthopedic Divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.

Deanna has completed numerous post-graduate courses and received her Diploma of Intermediate Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2010. Deanna is also certified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute to perform medical acupuncture. She is an avid cyclist and is taking further courses on key concepts of bike fits and treatment of cycling-related injuries.

Deanna enjoys treating all types of patients. Her philosophy of individualized treatments incorporates manual therapy, medical acupuncture, education and exercise prescription. While studying at UBC, Deanna was involved in research on both breast cancer related lymphedema and the effects of exercise on quality of life in women living with breast cancer.

Deanna is an outdoor enthusiast playing competitive women's soccer, cycling on her road bike, snowboarding, running and hiking. Last year she gave triathlons a try and successfully completed the Oliver Half Ironman and Ironman Canada.


Douglas Hayter RMT

Douglas graduated from Kikkawa College of Massage therapy in Toronto in 2009.

Since coming to Vancouver, Douglas has had the opportunity to work with several other practicing RMT's to further expand his knowledge of the bodies interconnections, and ways to work with the patient to take advantage of these in a therapeutic manner. As a result, Douglas takes a whole body approach, looking at posture and lifestyle in an attempt to get to the root of a clients problems.

In his own pursuits, Douglas strives to take full advantage of what BC has to offer, and can be found somewhere in the mountains during his time off whether to hike, bike, snowshoe or ski.


Nicholas Crooks RMT

Nick graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2001. His goal is to maximize the effectiveness of each session, while minimizing any discomfort during or after the treatment. With over 10 years of experience using massage as an incredibly effective healing modality, Nick is becoming increasingly interested in the more subtle aspects of massage that make it a healing art - more enjoyable, more accurate and efficient, and more in-tune with your preferences and needs. You'll feel the difference experience, intuitive hands, presence, and specificity make, both while you are receiving the massage and after.

Nick enjoys challenging cases, with experience ranging from athletes, to seniors, to post-operation rehab, to pregnancy massage, to trauma survivors.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys providing his three boys with outdoor, athletic, and educational experiences. You're likely to see him with them on a trail, at the pool, at a park, or at Science World or the Aquarium, taking advantage of everything Vancouver has to offer!


Julia Jacobsen RMT

Julia’s diverse educational and training background includes being a Registered Massage therapist, a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and a diploma in Sport Science from Douglas College.

As an RMT, Julia believes that utilizing massage therapy can directly lead to physical health improvements and that a hands-on, natural approach can assist people with their pain, whether acute or chronic. She has practiced this approach at a number of volunteer placements including: Summit Health Center; George Pearson Hospital; and at the maternity ward of Royal Columbian Hospital. In addition, Julia is a practicing Kinesiologist where her focus is on assessment, rehabilitation and exercise with a diverse range of clients whom have unique goals and objectives.

In her spare time, Julia enjoys traveling and staying active. Her interests include health and nutrition, fitness competitions, swimming, running, hiking and dancing.
